Today’s outfit is a definite transition into fall. I am loving the denim shirt dress trend right now because it goes so well with cognac. To me this color combination is a classic. I have had my PS1 bag for almost two years now and I am so glad I got it as it goes with so much. For awhile the cognac color was not available but I just saw the same exact bag is now available at Nordstrom, just in time for fall. If you are looking for a versatile bag in the tan family then definitely check out the bags from Proenza Schouler. I just picked up these Isabel Marant Rawson boots and I love them. The western trend is going to be big this season, and I have always loved an excuse to bust out a cowgirl look. I cannot stress how much I love Isabel Marant boots. To me, the brand is unmatched in terms of design and quality. If you are not familiar with her shoes, check out Isabel Marant. (tip: many of her past season shoes can be found for a fraction of the price on Ebay and Vestiaire Collective)
This past weekend Eric and I went to NYC for the day. Despite the heat (which I am not a fan of) we had a great time. We covered a lot of ground-SoHo, Times Square, Battery Park, and the Brooklyn Bridge. We walked over the bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn. If you are thinking of doing it I would save it as a fall activity (my personal opinion). Weather aside, however, it was a great time. Every step of the way there was a view to be seen. Once we got to the Brooklyn side we wandered to the DUMBO area (down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass) where spectacular front row views of both the Brooklyn AND Manhattan Bridges awaited us. If you ever get the chance, take at least a half a day and get to this area. To keep it light but stylish I wore my Novella Royale jumpsuit from two seasons ago. I always wear this at least twice a summer. The fabric is very light, so even though I am wearing pants I stay cool enough to brave the warmer climate. I usually try to wear a hat when I wander into the city so I don’t have to worry about my hair throughout the day. If you have been following my blog you know I love to throw a good hat into the mix on a regular basis. You can’t really see them, but I wore my tan lace up gladiator sandals. We were walking all day, and I have to say these shoes were comfortable to walk in the entire time. Until next post, have a great week everyone!
Well, we’re rounding third on summer, and I figured I would get one last wear out of my black lace up gladiator sandals. I also have them in tan, which I wore in a previous post. They are a less expensive version of the Schutz sandals, but worth every penny to me. I did wait a long time for shipping (they came from Asia) but they did not disappoint when they arrived. They are surprisingly comfy. I found this tee from Forever 21 and knew I had to give it a home in my closet. I love the simple but chic design, and I love the fact that it can be dressed up or down. Here I have it pretty casual, but I think it would also look great under a beautifully structured black or white blazer. As for the clutch, I pulled this little number out of retirement because I thought it flowed with the overall outfit. I actually made this a few years ago when I took sewing lessons and learned to use my sewing machine. I don’t make these anymore, but the ones I did manage to make I have held onto. My hat goes off to any person who sews or makes their own clothing or accessories. It truly is tedious work! Hope you are enjoying the last of summer wherever you are, and I will see you in the next post.
