If you could pass on one piece of fashion advice to readers, what would it be?
You don’t have to stick to just one style! Be yourself. One day I’m in a Lilly dress and wedges and the next I’m wearing boho headbands with gladiator sandals. My style is ever evolving and I refuse to label myself as just one type of fashion.
How and why did you get started blogging?
Cue cliché quote of “it’s never too late to fulfill your dreams”…but seriously. I have always loved writing (I majored in Public Relations at University of Florida and spent two years contributing to The Gainesville Sun newspaper), had an avid interest in fashion and followed other bloggers on Instagram. My husband and I have been so fortunate to have the opportunity to travel the world, live in a beautiful home and do exciting things all around Miami, so I thought why not share this with others? I started Beaches and Bubbly as a creative outlet to document everything I love from daily outfits, home décor, travel and much more!
How long have you been blogging?
I am super new to the blogging scene. My first post went live end of April, after I decided to stop writing to myself (lol) and share it with the world! It’s been a month and a half whirlwind, but I have loved every second of it.
What is your favorite/least favorite thing about blogging?
My favorite thing is getting to share my life piece by piece with family, friends, and people I don’t even know yet! The beauty of blogging is to inspire and to be inspired. I have had a few designer collaborations in the past month and hope to do more of those, as well as attend fashion conferences and travel more often. As for my least favorite thing? Check back in a few months 😉 Just kidding. Seeing as it’s so new, I honestly have loved everything so far! I will say the most challenging part is getting people to take you seriously and support you when there are already so many other bloggers out there. Not everyone understands that this is something I’m not only passionate about, but can potentially see as my full time career in the future.
Who takes your pictures?
My other half behind the lens is my wonderful husband, Zack. He’s not only my photographer, but my web designer and number one supporter. He’s my secret weapon to success!
-your top 3 staple wardrobe pieces?
I would say a cute dress, wedges and a good pair of sunnies—every Florida girl necessity! Am I allowed to keep going? I have a handbag obsession and can’t go anywhere without a few of my favs. Lately I’ve been throwing everything in my LV Neverfull GM for work, travel and going out—the bigger the better!
Which social media platform are you most active on?
Definitely Instagram! I feel like I caught the Instagram bug a little late in the game (I’ve been active for one year now), but it’s by far the best. I love the way it’s more picture oriented and is so easy to make new connections and collabs.
Top 3 stores you usually shop?
I’m a big believer of online shopping. As dangerous (to your wallet) as it can be, it’s so much more convenient than wandering around a mall and almost always has better options.
One piece of advice you could pass on to a new blogger or someone thinking of starting a blog?
Don’t overthink it, just start. It can be super overwhelming seeing all the blogs out there that have been running for years, but you have to focus on yourself and ultimately what your goal is. To me, fashion blogs are like designers: there are already hundreds out there, but you can always use more. If you’re bringing your own voice and something fresh to the game, you’re golden. I believe it is easier now to start a blog than it was years ago! -
How do you balance blogging with real life?
I’m currently a Marketing Manager, but luckily I work from home so my schedule is flexible. I’m sure it will get more chaotic when we have kids one day, but for now it’s just me, my husband and our two fur babies: Roma (our golden retriever puppy) and Marley (our cat).
One random fact about you?
This question always gets me. I’m the type of person who says a different random fact every time an ice breaker like this comes up. I guess something interesting is that I’m always on the go. I am sort of ADD meets OCD in the sense that I love multi-tasking at its finest and never procrastinate. I know what I want and like to get things done quickly, hence getting engaged to the love of my life after just 9 months of dating ☺ Did I mention I have an extreme sushi obsession, grew up surfing & playing the piano, enjoy traveling, and love a good glass of rosé?
Thanks for listening and hope you all love Beaches and Bubbly!
