Today I am sharing something fun with you. I actually got this DVF firebird silk blouse during the holiday sale season for about 80 % off. (That wasn’t a typo. If you don’t know about Piperlime and their awesome sales, now you know.) For the longest time I couldn’t quite style it. Everything i paired it with seemed a bit off. Then I put the two together (top and trousers) and it was love. I have also had these pants for awhile and never wore them for the same reason. Nothing seemed quite right with them, so I held onto them and let them rest in my closet, knowing they would come out of hibernation when the time was right. Have you ever experienced this? Sometimes I wear the things I buy right away, but every once in awhile I buy something that I know I love, but am not quite sure how I’ll make it work. When this happens I decide to myself that I won’t wear something just because it’s new and forsake style. I think this is where patience comes in. I believe if you want to love what you wear and how you look, sometimes it involves waiting out the style drought within you. So I guess that is my tip for the day…don’t feel the need to wear something you just bought because you feel like popping a tag. You could buy the most fabulous anything but if you know in your heart you could do better with it then listen to that feeling!
